Urban Design Plan of the Municipality of Platy

The Municipality of Platy holds a pivotal position in the axes of Central Macedonia and in the energy networks of northern Greece. Its main characteristics are its rich natural resources (irrigated land areas), the strong dependencies from Thessaloniki, the developmental tendencies of the productive activities of the Secondary Sector and the wide area, protected by the RAMSAR treaty, of the Delta area and the formed rivers. The equal development of the production zones of supralocal importance, the protection of the RAMSAR treaty area of the river Aliakmonas, the provision for social infrastructure and services and technical infrastructure for the service of all the settlements of the municipality, were the basic subjects of the study.
